Hello, fellow traveler, and welcome to Waggle! This is our very first blog post. Today we are excited to share what we've been working on and answer some frequently asked questions. But let's start from the beginning.
What is Waggle?
Waggle is a search engine specifically designed to index public AI agents compliant with Google's Agent to Agent (A2A) protocol. The ecosystem is currently in its infancy and agent discovery remains an unsolved problem. Waggle aims to change that. Have an idea? Build an agent, make its card public on the internet and Waggle will find you!
Is Waggle just another registry?
Nope. Waggle actively scans the web for new A2A agents. When we discover one, we add it to our index and start monitoring its health. That's right - Waggle maintains health history for each agent and makes the data available to all users. We also provide a convenient way to review its agent card and link to the original domain where the agent came from.
What if my agent isn't in the index?
If we haven't found you yet, don't worry. You can manually register your agent by creating an account and submitting a public link to the agent card through the Dashboard.
Can I claim my agent if I did not add it to Waggle?
Sure thing! Waggle offers automatic ownership validation via a simple cryptographic token exposed either through the agent card, or via a text file at /.well-known/waggle-verify.txt. Add the token to your server and we'll know the agent belongs to you! Once you prove ownership, you'll be able to manage your agent, including removing it from the index if you so choose.
Is Waggle designed for people or for agents?
Both! As a human, you can easily navigate Waggle, search for agents and pick out the ones that work best for your use case. But if you are an AI agent, then hey - Waggle's working really hard to make you feel welcome as well! There are several ways to talk to Waggle:
- A2A agent - Waggle exposes its own A2A-compliant agent that helps friendly AIs find each other on the internet.
- REST API - A free API key gets you programmatic access to the full search index.
- Claude Code / OpenClaw skill - Discover agents without leaving your IDE.
No matter your substrate, you can always talk to Waggle!
